The goal is to make it 1,000 one day!

Do you write a lot on Medium? I surely do. Ever since I accepted the “365 articles in 365 days” challenge, I invest a significant amount of time into writing. To be fair, I’m falling behind: I published 175 articles in 290 days, so I need to pick up the pace… But it should also be about quality, right?

Below are more than 100 articles I wrote in 2020 and 2021, divided by categories. The list will be updated monthly. Most of the articles are curated.

Because even Tinder is built on… Love? No! Codes and algorithms!

My best friend has been telling me about her underwhelming online dating experience for months: how barely anyone has decent profiles, how so few people match with her, how almost no one messages her first.

Daisy — let’s call her that — has felt frustrated for a while and was considering ending this tedious Tinder experiment.

But a week later, she called me and sounded super excited.

“I figured out a trick! — she almost yelled in my ear. — And I got so many matches! Guys are messaging me now. I broke Tinder!”

I laughed very loudly at the…

Even when a person seems OK, you don’t know what they are battling at home.

The topic of domestic abuse is difficult to discuss for many of us. People often tend to avoid it, and not every victim is willing to talk. We don’t know what happens behind closed doors, but sadly, a significant number of people deal with abuse. It’s estimated that around 10 million people in the United States fall victim to domestic abuse each year — and that is only individuals who report it. But despite that, many of us shy away from bringing up the importance of preventing domestic abuse and helping victims.

I am fortunate enough not to have experienced…

The story of my losing $25,000 of potential profit because I didn’t have faith in crypto.

Ethereum has been on fire recently! It’s on the news, it’s in the headlines, and it’s certainly in many people’s crypto-investment accounts. Cryptocurrency has changed the lives of many people, and it did so quite rapidly.

Bitcoin isn’t the only cryptocurrency that ended up being profitable. Lately, Ethereum has gained a lot of attention. As of today, it’s worth $2,210 per coin. It was $2,500 the other day. But it wasn’t always this way — in fact, at some point in the past, Ethereum sold for less than $1. I didn’t buy it back then, but I indeed jumped on…

I calculated my earnings for the very first “trial” year.

You can find a lot of people discussing the topic of making money on Medium. How to do it, is it profitable, is it worth it — and much more. I, myself, joined Medium exactly a year ago, and I would like to share the results with my readers.

I believe in transparency. You should discuss your success and especially the earnings with others to have an idea of what to expect and which ventures are worth it for them. So far, I’ve been quite open about my very first steps and progress on this platform. While 2020 went well…

The new fancy Internet is now in Canada and the USA, but how much is it?

If you follow Elon Musk’s innovations and progress, you probably are aware of his goal to provide Internet access to everyone worldwide. Despite a few hiccups along the way, the South African businessman has successfully turned this dream into reality.

Starlink has been launching satellites into orbit over the years — with permission from the government, of course — and it finally became available to selected private entities in Canada and the USA in 2020. And finally, it became available to “regular” people as well. I’m Canadian, and I can attest to that.

I received an email from Starlink on…

Not all the loans are secured by a property — some of them hold on to cheese!

Banks… No one likes dealing with them. The banking system can be complicated to comprehend, and many of us get lost in it.

Not to mention, it’s hard to figure out all the rules and requirements. Applying for a loan, mortgage, or a credit card is not a walk in the park — you must jump through so many hoops! And banks want to ensure they will be getting their money back, which is why they often ask for substantial collateral.

But there is a bank that doesn’t want your house, car, or any other property as security. What does…

The fear of not being good enough, the fear of someone else being better — you need to face them all!

The internet has completely transformed the way we do business, and it certainly gifted many people the incredible opportunity to build online companies. The number of e-commerce businesses grew by 44% in 2020 — it nearly doubled! And these figures are expected to keep increasing.

Many of us dream of starting a successful business and “making it” online. For some, those aren’t just dreams but comprehensive step-by-step goals. Regardless of what planning stage you’re currently in, all the aspiring online business people share one common feeling: fear.

There are many fears to face when making life-altering decisions — and starting…

Apart from buying the house without even mentioning it to you, he sounds like a nice person and a good partner. He supported you with your dreams and goals. However, you actually talked to him BEFORE accepting a new job. He didn't return the favour when buying a new home.

Purchasing a property is a life-changing decision. Even if he saw that house listed for an amazing price at 3 am, and had to place an offer by 4 am, he could have still told you about it. I bet he's been thinking about buying a house far away FOR A WHILE before going through with the purchase. So... I think it's a red glad. Consulting a partner on something like this shouldn't be optional.

Finding a skilled ghostwriter can be a challenge.

Writing — the activity so many of us enjoy. For some, it’s a hobby; for others, it can be a full-time job. Regardless of being a professional journalist or an amateur writer, creating content and producing written pieces constitutes a creative process for many of us.

There are plenty of ways one might explore the writing space and learn from others. Personally, I dedicate a large chunk of my time to reading other peoples’ work and improving my writing skills. There’s a lot to educate me on when it comes to creativity. One of the things I decided to explore…
