Elon Musk was trying to buy Twitter recently, and while the plan fell through, his actions left a sour taste in Twitter employees’ mouths. Musk’s first meeting with employees didn’t go too well. He said that only those doing “excellent work” could continue working from home, which rubbed people the wrong way. I don’t work for Twitter, but such a statement would probably motivate me to update my resume and look for a new job that aligns with reality in 2022 and not with 1970.

I was scrolling through LinkedIn and saw posts from several Tesla employees saying they are looking for new jobs because Tesla demanded they commute to work. They don’t want to work from the office, especially since some reside far away. And while Elon won’t be buying Twitter after all, and moreover, the company is now suing him, his work practices are problematic.

Elon Musk is wrong. And if he doesn’t fix it, he will lose talent to other, more flexible…
