Good morning. :) I’m actually European, and I immigrated to Canada from a city that is unofficially considered one of the “coffee cities” of Europe. Of course, there are many places in Europe that offer you amazing, fresh, authentic coffee that comes from in-house grinder high-quality coffee beans. Anyway, that’s not the point.

My friend in this story is from a similar city that has an excellent coffee culture. We don’t have Starbucks’ in that part of the world, or they can only be found in the mega-cities. I get that Americans consider Starbucks to be the ultimate coffee experience; but we, Europeans, are quite snobby about our coffee. We don’t drink the burned-coffee-bean-based water-down nonsense of a coffee you can find in American malls. No shade! There are quite a few amazing high-quality coffee places in both Canada and USA! But as a slightly snobby European who’s used to delightful fresh coffee, I will gladly accept being called “pretentious” when it comes to coffee.

Thank you for your opinion and your feedback, I shall consider it. And sure, not buying a lady a coffee because you don’t feel thirsty is the behaviours all the men aspire to on the first date.

Have a nice day and stay safe!
