Hi, Lennie. To be honest, there is no right answer to that. I waited till I had 1,500 followers, but some people start right away.

In my opinion, it's a good idea to publish articles in other publications, because this way you'll get followers + exposure on the platform. But I wouldn't suggest waiting till 10k followers. I've been on Medium for 6 months, and I only have 1.6k so far. Although some people get subscribers much faster.

I'd say, once you feel like you're ready, and you have a lot of things to tell others - go for it.
