I have decided to retire early when I familiarized myself with FIRE a year ago. My primary goal right now is to pay off my student loans ASAP (while, of course, still investing a little bit on the side), and then I will be saving and investing aggressively till I’m 45. Which is when I’m hoping to retire. My main plan is to invest in 2 real estate properties and pay them off within 7 years as opposed to 25. This should generate me at least $3,000 monthly once I turn 45, so I can quit working. Or most likely work for myself and pay attention to my hobbies.

I like your idea of using $40k yearly from your early retirement fund. I don’t think I need this much, but having extra wouldn’t hurt…
