I love both Oakville and the Beaches. I try to visit Oakville at least twice a month, and South Scarborough offers more than one picturesque park. I don’t know if you’ve ever been to Rosetta McClain Gardens, but it’s beautiful and a pretty good spot for photographers too. I currently gave away my DSLR to my father, but otherwise I would be taking it to that park. Oakville’s Gairloch Gardens is equally magnificent.

It was smart to stay away from people in the last year and a half. Some folks can’t even wash their hands or wear masks properly; I certainly wouldn’t trust too many people with my life. Considering how many anti-mask and anti-COVID protests happen all around Toronto in the last 18 months, we all should have lived like hermits, lol. I actually discovered Oakville just because I wanted to run away from TheSix. I’m contemplating moving there. Would you recommend it?

Yes, meeting people through hobbies is a good idea. I should consider that too. I actually wanted to join a boat club, because they sometimes have nice social events. Covid ruined my plans for now, but we shall see. I’m sure you can find nice women sailing, etc.

Online dating isn’t for everyone, yeah. I’m still giving it a try because I am very patient. But a few more awful dates - and I’m done.

I will tell my friend to consider getting a boat license! I almost got mine too. Maybe I’ll join a boat club and invite him to the socials. It’s certainly a shame to live on the lake and not to take advantage of it.

Long story short: dating is hard, and it’s extra bad in mega-cities like Toronto. I blame capitalism, lol. Living costs are high, property costs have skyrocketed, and people get greedier every year.
