I was referring to the guy being insecure. In my opinion, people who see others as inadequate (too slim, too fat, too tall, too short, wrong body shape, wrong hair, etc) are the ones who project their own insecurities onto others. I, for example, don’t care what others think of me, and if someone spends their lives criticizing mine or someone else’s body – it’s their problem and their own issues with body image, which cause their insecurities and such behavior. In your story, the guy doesn’t sound like someone with a high self-esteem. But best of luck to him, of course.
