I'm a feminist, and I think splitting the bill might be a good idea. HOWEVER, I encountered men who would be too cheap to pay for my $2 coffee. The funny thing is, in those instances I'd be the one doing the longer commute, and that $2 coffee they didn't buy me wouldn't even cover gas/public transit. :)
