I'm not sure what kind of experiences you've had, but I'm a woman who always invests time, effort and money into dating. Not because I'm desperate (lol), but simply because this is who I am. I also invest into friends and friendships at work - and family, of course.

So, I'm not sure what kind of women you're talking about. Probably the ones who aren't interested in dating a certain guy or certain types of men. For example, I, as a confident and outgoing woman, am not interested in shy and super introverted men, because those are the guys who often have lots of insecurities, and those insecurities will get magnified all throughout the relationship as I'm going to be the proactive and accomplished one in the relationship, especially when it comes to social skills. But most importantly, women simply look for good men who have decent personalities. It doesn't matter how much money or energy you put into dating, but if you're not a good person, no woman would be interested in you (not you specifically, but a hypothetical man).

It's not 1970s anymore. Women don't "need" men to survive. Back in the day, a woman could end up homeless and pretty much die on the street without a man, which is why almost any guy was in demand. And then, women couldn't leave those with horrible personalities, including abusive partners, because they would, once again, die on the street. But the times changed. Men can no longer offer themselves "as is", meaning no personality, social skills or a a lack of good character. Add the financial independence to the mix - and you have women who offer good interpersonal qualities, social skills, confidence, high self esteem, accomplishments, financial security, and much more. I would like to think I'm one of those women, and most women I know are same way; surely, no one is perfect, but you get the gist. Unfortunately, it seems like certain men are a bit behind progress-wise. So, why would a woman be interested in such a man?

I mean, I'm sure there are a plenty of quiet, shy, not super motivated and cute girls out there. Men like that can always date such women. The personal qualities and character is still a major requirement though.
