I’m on the cusp of being a millennial and a Gen-Z-er, and I’d always stare my intentions when online dating. I don’t think it’s a generational thing but an online dating tactics. Reading the other person’s mood when they are on the other side of the screen is difficult, and unless you state your intentions the interaction might be pointless. The interesting thing is, men would usually “hardball” me before I even got a chance to ask about their goals. But overall, you’re right and it’s always been a good idea to be honest and clear about what you’re looking for.
