In my opinion - yes. Most standards that are related to looks and money might be superficial. Yes, looks can be a factor and some of us have stop-signals or icks. But otherwise, it's not important. Same with money: while it's a good idea to have a decent career path and be semi-financially-secure, it's not the priority.
