There are a few options:

1) You're suddently getting external views on your old articles that got TRENDING. For example, if you wrote an articly about Johnny Depp a year ago, it would start going viral 2 weeks ago because of his public trial.

2) Maybe you left a comment that's getting a lot of views. That happened to me when I commented on Barack Obama's article, lol. You don't get paid for comment views, but they are added to the daily view count (which is silly BTW).
