Unfortunately, those are exactly the stories I keep hearing everywhere: from women in my life, from acquaintances, from friends' friends, in my community, online... And I try soooo hard not to focus on them and remind myself that my father is an awesome example of how men actually be amazing partners, husbands and father.

But the sad reality is, the absolute majority of men are shocked when they are broken up with or/and when their wives file for divorce. And they have genuinely believe they've been doing so much as an equal partner; while in reality, they haven't.

I don't want to discount the comment above though; maybe his friends are this way. But this seems much more credible coming for the women's side. And they have to be very honest about it too.
