You are right. This is one of the reasons why i find the abortion ban / restrictions horrendous. So many women (and men too, but at least men don’t require abortions) get raped, and not every one of them comes forward in time. In my opinion, any civilised country would change the laws to protect victims of rape even if there were only a few occurrences of such crime. But there are more than a few, and yet, the US decided to set the clock 50 years back.
