You have the best girlfriend ever. It's great that she values you and doesn't value finances as much. This is how it should be (idealy).

You should never feel obligated to spend money, or to show your care that way. Your take-aways are perfect. Money is just an instrument.

I love getting gifts and giving gifts. But I don't want anything materialistic - it's emotional gifts that get me. Most of the time, they cost almost nothing, yet they mean the world.

P.S. Still waiting for a guy to make me a cake, or draw me a card, or write me a song. Hasn't happened yet. :(
